job summary

This position will be responsible for directly supervising and coordinating activities of construction trade workers and their helpers. Manages commercial projects on and off the jobsite. Adheres to jobsite safety in accordance with all federal, state and local occupational and health safety laws.

essential functions and basic duties:

  1. Responsibilities.
    1. Direct and lead commercial construction projects.
    2. Meet with project manager and other contractors to determine scope of project, deadlines and project cost limits.
    3. Read specifications to become familiar with the project and to determine staffing skill requirements.
    4. Examine and inspect work progress to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met.
  2. Coordinate staff to ensure timely project completion.
    1. Coordinate work flow with all departments.
    2. Assist with resolution of project delays.
    3. Provide work assignments as needed.
    4. Oversee that supplies and service time are tracked to correct job/projects.
  3. Performs various other job-related responsibilities.

  1.  Perform tasks outdoors in environmentally challenging conditions including wind and extreme cold weather.
  2. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
  3. Recognize needs/problems and correct them independently.
  4. Must be highly detail oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and possess a high degree of problem-solving capabilities.

 

qualifications:

1.        Training, education, or certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

2.         Knowledge:

  • 5 - 10 years commercial project coordination experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing project requirements and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of commercial design development including customer specifications.
  • Ability to complete a high-quality job while maintaining efficiency.
  • Abide by all company processes and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as Microsoft Office software knowledge.

3.         Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling and working outdoors.
  • Knowledge of construction or related trades preferred but not required.
  • Effective communication skills, written and spoken.
  • Must have a great attitude, positive mindset and be a team player.
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

contacts & physical demands:

Internal Contacts – All office staff and team members of large commercial projects.

External Contacts – Has regular contact with customers and subcontractors.

Physical Demands – Ability to stand for long periods of time. Exerts 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently. Required walking or standing to a significant degree; or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.
