      McCain Auditorium is Kansas State University’s center for live performing arts. McElroy’s was glad to help upgrade its space and amenities to increase McCain’s iconic value. Expansion and renovations added more lobby space, an event hall, an office admin area, ticket office, and much-needed restroom facilities.

      McElroy’s installed a new air handling unit (AHU) to better serve the additional space. A new variable-air-volume (VAV) system with terminal reheat provides improved comfort control in each area. The constricted, basement location of the AHU created a logistical challenge. McElroy’s solved the issue by disassembling the old AHU for removal, and bringing in the new AHU as parts and assembling it in place.

      McElroy’s installed plumbing and fixtures for three new restrooms on the ground floor, where there previously were none, and completely renovated the mezzanine restrooms – nearly tripling the facilities. Patrons of McCain Auditorium can now enjoy enhanced event opportunities, convenience and comfort.
