Controls McElroy Controls Increases Niagara 4 Certifications
July 23, 2025“Dylan Hunninghake is a key member of the McElroy Controls team, and has now added Tridium Nagara 4 Certification to his expertise,” said Keith Watkins, McElroy’s vice president and leader of McElroy Controls. “Dylan is fully trained and certified to build web-based pages within the Niagara framework, connecting data from a wide variety of control devices and systems into one central platform. Data is converted into on-screen representations for secure, online monitoring and management of controls systems – from any place, at any time.”
Optimized Efficiency
Dylan began working on building controls projects in 2019 as a McElroy’s commercial HVAC technician. In late 2023 he completed intensive training to become certified in the design, installation and service of ASI Controls. McElroy Controls is an Authorized Dealer for both ASI Controls and Solidyne Controls. “Optimized control systems provide a wealth of benefits for smart buildings, and industrial processes,” Dylan said. “High-functioning controls offer better energy management, fine-tuned HVAC performance for maximum comfort, operational excellence and end-to-end efficiency – all resulting in lower overall costs.”
Integrated Systems
“We do a great deal of work designing and installing controls for heating-and-air mechanical systems,” Dylan said. “With Niagara 4 we can integrate all the individual units and systems into one easy-to-use online platform. It doesn’t matter whether the controls are ASI, Solidyne or another supplier – or whether the equipment includes chillers, rooftop units, VRF systems, boilers or whatever. They can be from Trane, Daikin, York, or any of the top manufacturers, we pull it all together.”
Secure Online Management
When the controls system installation is complete, an expert from McElroy Controls builds an online interface using the Niagara 4 framework. “We train the designated facility manager and/or team members how to securely log in and use the online site,” said Keith Watkins. “Using any web-connected device, they can monitor every piece in each system, troubleshoot, make adjustments or fix issues – from wherever they may be, at any time. We can also set them up to receive email alarms if something goes down, like if a boiler fails or a chiller has problems. If it’s an issue that requires our specialized abilities, we can always step in for remote assistance through the internet.”
